Respect The Disabled And Their Assistant

I have only recently joined the world of the disabled. I am ashamed to say I was oblivious to the treatment they/we endure from the public. I was raised where a person is to respect the disabled and their assistant, open doors if needed, move out of the way so they can get by.  I was taught that patronizing anyone is rude, and disrespectful, but lending a helping hand if needed was respectful.  I don’t hold doors just for disabled people, I hold the door for anyone coming in, or out, behind me. Things like that, I do for anyone. Now, as a disabled person
